Westmoreland overdose deaths on pace to hit all-time record

Drug overdoses are the leading cause of injury-related deaths in the nation, averaging nearly 44,000 a year, according to a study released last summer by the nonprofit The Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Overdose deaths more than doubled nationwide in the past 14 years, the study showed.
