Blacks, Latinos, and Baby Boomers Bear Brunt of Obesity Epidemic

Further, the report, produced by the Trust for America's Health (TFAH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), in its 11th year, shows that 9 of the 10 states with the highest obesity rates are in the South, and that baby boomers, aged 45 to 64, may be earning the sobriquet "the fattest generation," with the highest obesity rate of any age group.
"Obesity in America is at a critical juncture," Jeff Levi, PhD, executive director of the Trust for America's Health, said during the press conference. "Overall [obesity] rates have been stabilizing but at an unacceptably high level, and the disparities in rates are profoundly troubling."
