Why young, middle-aged adults need flu shots this year

Experts remain divided on whether this is happening this year, but they agree on another major contributor to influenza in younger adults: Their lack of protection against it.
Just more than one-third of people between the ages of 18 and 64 nationwide had a flu shot last year, according to a report from the Trust for America’s Health, released earlier this month. Compare this with 57 percent of children and 66 percent of the elderly.
