Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee top list of fattest states in America

What’s up in Mississippi? The numbers on the scale: It’s the most obese state in the country for the sixth year in a row, according to the seventh annual “F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2010” report.

The newly released report, from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Trust for America’s Health, also listed these among the top 10 most-obese states: Tennessee and Alabama tied for second, and West Virginia came in third, followed by Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Arkansas and South Carolina. Michigan and North Carolina  tied for 10th place.

In New York, which tied for 36th place with Florida and Idaho, 25.1% of adults are obese.
