Health report finds prevention pays in millions

"Health care costs are crippling the U.S. economy. Keeping Americans healthier is one of the most important, but overlooked ways we could reduce these costs," said Jeff Levi, executive director of the Trust for America's Health, a national health advocacy program. By spending just $10 per person per year, Oklahoma could lower the rate of diseases among its citizens related to physical activity, nutrition and smoking. And the state could see a return of $5.20 for each dollar, the report concludes.
