D.C. Area Improves Planning For Crises, But Md. Still Faces Drug Distribution Issues, Study Finds

The Washington area has made big strides in preparing for bioterrorism and other health emergencies, but Maryland still lacks an adequate system to distribute medication in a crisis, according to a study released yesterday.
The fifth annual report, by the nonpartisan advocacy group
Trust for America's Health, finds that most of the country is making progress. It credits years of federal grants aimed at helping communities cope with terrorism, pandemic flu and other disasters.
