Study: Maryland and D.C. Not Prepared for Health Emergencies

Maryland and the District rank in the lowest one-third of American states in their level of preparedness for health emergencies like bioterrorism or pandemic flu, according to a study issued today. Virginia, in contrast, is among the 14 best-prepared states, says the report by the Trust for America's Health, a non-partisan public health advocacy group.
